Pool Nights Competition
Held once a month, this fun and social program brings rangatahi together for friendly games of pool in a safe, welcoming environment. These nights encourage positive interaction, teamwork, and confidence-building while providing a relaxed space for youth to connect. Competitions add an exciting element, fostering healthy rivalry and achievement in a supportive setting.

Pink shirt day
Marlborough Youth Trust proudly supports Pink Shirt Day to stand against bullying and promote kindness and inclusion. We encourage rangatahi to wear pink, participate in creative activities, and engage in conversations about respect and diversity. This day is all about creating a safe, supportive environment where everyone feels valued and accepted, reinforcing our commitment to positive youth wellbeing. We visit MBC and MGC QCC

Youth Week
Marlborough Youth Trust proudly celebrates Youth Week each year, creating a vibrant space for creativity, connection, and fun.
Typically held in May, the week is a nationwide celebration organized by various youth-focused groups and government agencies. It aims to highlight the positive impact of youth, raise awareness about issues affecting young people, and promote youth engagement in community and social activities.
Each year, a specific theme is chosen to guide the focus of Youth Week activities, helping to raise awareness around a particular issue or topic that impacts young people.
The event provides a platform for youth to voice their opinions, share experiences, and collaborate with peers, community leaders, and organizations to drive positive change.
Marlborough Youth Trust is one of many organisations in Marlborough that joins in to celebrate our local young people.
Our annual youth week events are:
- Community art projects
- Combat Robotics
- Youth Expos
- Pink Shirt Day
- Special after school activities
We collaborate with other organisations hosting Youth Week Events too.

Matariki Celebration
A cultural event honouring the Māori New Year, where we gather at Rarangi Beach early in the morning to watch the sunrise and reflect on the significance of Matariki. In collaboration with Omaka Observatory, participants explore the Matariki star cluster and learn about its meaning in te ao Māori. After the sunrise, we return to MySpace to share a cooked kai together, creating a warm, communal experience that strengthens connection and cultural understanding.
Springfest
A large-scale community event that celebrates diversity and inclusion, featuring music, cultural performances, and activities in a safe, alcohol- and drug-free environment. Youth lead and youth performance.
SpringFest is an annual spring event held typically in September. The festival is a youth-focused celebration featuring a wide range of youth-led activities and youth performers.
The aim is to showcase our young local talent, utilise their entrepreneurial skills, socialise with one another and share their spirit with the community, before the exam period. Springfest coincides with Mental Health Awareness Week held every September.
